Artist Malissa Ryder lives and works in Athens, Georgia.
In her current work, she creates works on paper, using traditional watercolor methods, fused with a contemporary sensibility.
“In my paintings, I try to build a kind of color story, layer by layer and tone by tone. I love to use abstraction, improvisation and gesture in my work, and often find myself drawn to nature for my inspiration.”
Ryder received her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is held in numerous private collections, and has been featured on several popular sites including Design*Sponge, Leifshop, Anthology Magazine, and The Land of Nod.
